The best 5 star hotels in the center of Venice

In the historical center of Venice there are not so many good 5-star hotels, and if you take into account even the ratings, reviews of tourists plus my personal experience, then you have to choose from no more than a dozen options. The average cost of a 5 star hotel in Venice is in the region from 500 to 800 euros per day. In the article, we will consider both more affordable prices and more expensive accommodation options.

Of course, the center of the city and the goal of most tourists is St. Mark's Square (piazza San Marco), you can live nearby on the promenade or consider staying 5 minutes on a boat, for example, on Giudecca island.

Using a special filter-link, you can independently reserve the option suitable for you, I have selected only hotels with tourist ratings not lower than 8 out of 10.

Below are the verified accommodation options in which our clients and my friends have stayed several times:

Bauer Palladio Hotel & Spa

Bauer Palladio Hotel & Spa is housed in a former 16th-century monastery on the island of Judecca. Many of the rooms offer fabulous views of the lagoon and Piazza San Marco, where a boat shuttle is organized every 30 minutes for hotel guests.

Given the cost of rooms from 260 euros per night and location, I consider this hotel one of the best in the center of Venice with 5 stars. There is an excellent gym, spa, garden for relaxation, delicious breakfasts, which are included in the price of the room. Be sure to look at this accommodation option.

Belmond Hotel Cipriani

Belmond Hotel Cipriani is rightfully considered one of the most luxurious and expensive in Venice.

Room rates start at 1,000 euros per night. This is the only hotel in the center of Venice with its own large outdoor pool and tennis court. There are platforms for relaxation, meditation and contemplation of the lagoon. Naturally, a shuttle service from the airport and to St. Mark's Square is organized for guests.

It features the Oro gourmet restaurant, Cip's Club with a wooden terrace and views of St. Mark's Cathedral, and the Porticciolo Restaurant, ideal for a light lunch.

The most affluent tourists can book a Suite with an area of 50 square meters with a view of the lagoon and a balcony for 4640 euros.

Let's look at more affordable options.

Hotel londra palace

Londra Palace Hotel is located right on the Riva degli Schiavoni seafront, just a 5-minute walk from St. Mark's Square. Some rooms have a postcard view of San Giorgio Maggiore Island.

Near the hotel there is a famous attraction - the Church of St. Zacharia (Chiesa di San Zaccaria), and a few hundred meters - Doge's Palace (Palazzo Ducale).

Hotel metropole

Hotel Metropole offers lagoon views for just 560 euros. The hotel has an ideal location on the main promenade, to the bridge of Sighs (Ponte dei Sospiri) walk literally five minutes.

The rooms are furnished with antique furniture, good sound insulation, and in the corridors you can admire a collection of old fans, tapestries and other art objects. The hotel has a Michelin-starred restaurant.

Sina centurion palace

If you choose a hotel with five stars and the best view, then Sina Centurion Palace is clearly the leader in the ranking.

The hotel is located in the historic Dorsoduro district and overlooks the Grand Canal and the Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute. Despite the fact that the hotel is located in a palace built in 1892, it harmoniously combines elements of the past and a modern, stylish interior. The cost of rooms is from 500 euros per day, and a suite with a view of the Grand Canal will cost 1100 euros. Of the minuses, for breakfast you need to pay 36 euros.

The gritti palace

If you want to feel like a princess or a prince, welcome to the 5 star The Gritti Palace Hotel with an uncompromising location right on the banks of the Grand Canal. Based on reviews, location, comfort, this hotel is the best in Venice.

Here you will not meet random people, as the average cost of a room is the most expensive hotel in Venice. There are no options to stay for a night cheaper than 1600 euros, breakfast costs 53 euros - this cuts off most of even the most affluent tourists. There are two restaurants, any services and whims that may only come to your mind. Next to the hotel is the La Fenice Opera House (Teatro La Fenice).

Baglioni Hotel Luna

And finally, you should definitely take a closer look at the Baglioni Hotel, which is 100 meters from St. Mark's Square. Be sure to try to meet the first rays of the sun in the morning.

Be sure to try to meet the first rays of the sun in the morning while admiring the bell tower and the cathedral in the part of the square closest to the hotel - the sun will just rise from the side of the basilica and this is magical. The only thing that can scare off booking this hotel is prices that start from 800 and go up to 4300 euros.

Conclusions and Tips

For 5 star hotels, especially in Venice, tourists always have the highest requirements and expectations. Of course, these expectations should be met, especially for the money. To summarize:

  1. If life is successful and financial opportunities allow, then choose between Baglioni Hotel Luna and Belmond Hotel Cipriani, and if you are a millionaire or from the royal family, then welcome to The Gritti Palace, the best and most expensive hotel in Venice.
  2. The most affordable five is the Bauer Palladio Hotel & Spa - in my opinion, the ideal ratio of price, location and comfort.
  3. Fives Hotel Londra Palace and Hotel Metropole are also located on the promenade, which are affordable by Venetian standards - the first option is closer to me personally, but lovers of antiquity will most likely appreciate the second.
  4. Before booking Sina Centurion Palace, be sure to read customer reviews, they are not always ideal, but are partially offset by a convenient location.

I hope now choosing a 5 star hotel in the center of Venice has become much easier for you. If you need advice, I will be glad to advise you in the comments.

Golden House of Nero

The Golden House of Nero (Domus Aurea) is an imperial residence, occupying the 2nd place in Eurasia in its area (after the Forbidden City in the capital of China - Beijing). History Nero (Nerō Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus) dreamed of the greatest palace in the history of Rome (Roma). However, the center of Rome was built up, and the only opportunity to perpetuate its name was seen in the construction of the palace in the form of a passage (domus transitoria), which would stretch from Palatine (Mons Pălātīnus) to Esquiline Hill (Mons Esquilinus).
