I personally really looked forward to this evening, because I was eager to see the authentic institution, where the Sicilians themselves go, and try the local cuisine. And she, by the way, is very different from everything that we tried in other regions of Italy.

Italian restaurants and cuisine have long been a brand all over the world. And although in most cases outside of Italy, only the name remains of the brand, inside the country in almost any city the average level of restaurants and the quality of food is at a fairly high level. But for Italians themselves, no restaurant in the world can compare with the dishes prepared by their mother.
On the third day of our stay in Sicily, Mario and Antonella invited us to a pizzeria. I personally really looked forward to this evening, because I was eager to see the authentic institution, where the Sicilians themselves go, and try the local cuisine. And she, by the way, is very different from everything that we tried in other regions of Italy.
We found the Al Capriccio restaurant by accident; we did not find a more or less decent restaurant for a 2-hour walk around Corleone, but we saw many pastries with traditional Sicilian sweets. We are very lucky, because this restaurant is open until noon, which is not often found in Italy.
Restaurant La Piazzetta was recommended to us for a visit to Mario and Antonella, in whose villa we stayed in Sicily. The restaurant is located 7 kilometers from the center of Trapani, but a 10-minute walk from the villa. There is no problem for the Italian to drive 10-15 km for a good restaurant, and some of my friends from Bologna have dinner 40 times from their home several times a week and do not see anything strange in this.
At the San Gusumano restaurant and pizzeria we were offered by our Sicilian friend Mario. Initially, it was planned to show parents the best Sicily pizzeria Calvino, but it was under reconstruction on the dates of our stay. According to Mario, San Gusumano is Calvino's main competitor in the ranking of Trapani residents.
After an excursion to the salt museum, we stayed for lunch with Mario and Antonella in the restaurant, which is located in the same building as the museum on the beach, 10 km from Trapani. The location is both a minus and a plus of this place, since getting there is only possible by personal car. But on the other hand, having rendered in this authentic family restaurant, you have excellent chances to burst from gluttony.
